  • Return on 8th March
It is great news to know that all our children will be returning to school on Monday 8th March as set out by the Prime Minister. We are still working on our return to school plan and this will be sent out via email next week once we have checked it thoroughly to ensure we have everything in place to keep all our children, parents and staff safe. We look forward to seeing you soon.
  • School Closure
As you are aware, there has been much speculation in the news relating to possible school closures and delaying the start of term for pupils. You may also be aware that unions have advised teachers to exercise their right to work remotely via a Section 44 letter on the grounds of health and safety at work. The Government have put Headteachers in a very difficult situation. Whilst we understand last minute decisions are not ideal, we are doing our very best to update you as soon as information is available to us.  I can confirm Broadfield Academy will now provide education ...

Please be aware that the last day of term is Friday 18th December at 1:30pm. Due to the timing of the most recent announcement from the DfE, we do not feel that there is appropriate notice for children and parents to end the term early.

  • Remembrance Day – Wednesday 11th November 2020
To mark Remembrance Day, children will be completing Remembrance activities in class. This year due to the pandemic, we will not be gathering as a school. However, we will of course be taking part in a 2-minute silence.  Children can come to school wearing their Scouts, Guides, Brownies, Rainbows, or equivalent uniform on Remembrance Day.  If your child has PE on the same day, and they would normally come to school wearing one of the above uniforms, they should wear their PE kit. We know this is not ideal. However, we do have to limit the amount of changing in school for ...

What a lovely week it has been! At Broadfield, we have been playing Christmas music and showing off our festive socks. Our wonderful Year 1 pupils are also back to school after their period of self-isolation. The highlight of our week has been Christmas Dinner Day on Thursday. Our Kitchen Team and Lunchtime Supervisors worked so hard to ensure we all enjoyed our special lunch. We tucked into a festive feast and enjoyed the Christmas buzz. We maintained social distancing and still managed to have some fun. We all wore our Christmas jumpers as it was Christmas Jumper Day too. ...
  • Friday 13/11/2020
It has been another productive and busy week. I have spoken to many children who have commented on how quickly the school days are going by. The highlight of this week was today’s Children in Need Day. Our wonderful pupils came to school wearing their pyjamas and donated £1 each. Class activities focused on charity and the importance of giving. This year’s focus was The Five Ways to Wellbeing. Children were taught well being strategies and had many opportunities to reflect on the topic. Thank you so much for supporting this worthwhile cause. Your donations will go towards helping less ...

We did it! We made it to half-term. This start to the school year has been like no other! Our children have shown great resilience and a love of learning. They want to be in school and are glad to be back into the school routine. Attendance levels have been the highest since 2017. Lots of classes are averaging 100% week on week. Thank you for supporting us and encouraging your children to come to school. We are most definitely making up for lost learning time.  The highlight of this week was our BSA Crazy Hair Day! It was wonderful to ...
