  • Remembrance Day – Wednesday 11th November 2020
To mark Remembrance Day, children will be completing Remembrance activities in class. This year due to the pandemic, we will not be gathering as a school. However, we will of course be taking part in a 2-minute silence.  Children can come to school wearing their Scouts, Guides, Brownies, Rainbows, or equivalent uniform on Remembrance Day.  If your child has PE on the same day, and they would normally come to school wearing one of the above uniforms, they should wear their PE kit. We know this is not ideal. However, we do have to limit the amount of changing in school for ...

This year is very special because it marks their 40th year!    Children in Need is a charity with a special mission. They help ensure every child in the UK is safe, happy, secure and has the opportunities they need to reach their potential.  They raise money both throughout the year and in November. They fund local charities and projects who help remove the barriers that are facing children and young people, so that they can thrive.  Broadfield Academy Arrangements:  Every year, we ask children to come to school wearing their pyjamas, ...

As you are all aware, the DfE published new guidance yesterday in-line with our national lockdown. It has been another productive and busy week. I have spoken to many children who have commented on how quickly the school days are going by. The highlight of this week was today’s Children in Need Day. Our wonderful pupils came to school wearing their pyjamas and donated £1 each. Class activities focused on charity and the importance of giving. This year’s focus was The Five Ways to Wellbeing. Children were taught well being strategies and had many opportunities to reflect on the topic. Thank you so much for supporting this worthwhile cause. Your donations will go towards helping less ...
  • 23rd October 2020
We did it! We made it to half-term. This start to the school year has been like no other! Our children have shown great resilience and a love of learning. They want to be in school and are glad to be back into the school routine. Attendance levels have been the highest since 2017. Lots of classes are averaging 100% week on week. Thank you for supporting us and encouraging your children to come to school. We are most definitely making up for lost learning time.  The highlight of this week was our BSA Crazy Hair Day! It was wonderful to ...
