Announcements

  • School Photos Reminder that we will be completing sibling photographs on Monday 11th November 2019 for those children who didn’t have theirs taken last Monday.  Sorry for any inconvience this may cause.
  • Reception tour dates 2020… If your child is due to start reception in September 2020, we are pleased to announce we have more dates for reception tours.  Please check out our Dates and Events tab for more information.  Please book your place by calling 01442 262103 or visiting the school office.
  • School Photos We return to school on Monday 4th November 2019 and have our individual school photos.  Remember to brush your hair, wear your red school jumper and smile!
  • End of Term We finish at 3.10pm Friday 25th October for half term.  We hope everyone has a nice relaxing week off and we look forward to seeing you all on 4th November ready for the build up to Christmas.
  • Crazy Hair Disco Reminder that Friday is Crazy Hair Disco after school.  Looking forward to seeing all the amazing creations.
  • Flu Vaccinations Forms Reminder that ALL flu vaccination forms need to be returned to school in a sealed envelope with your child’s name and class on the front and put in the drop box in reception. Unfortunately this is a GDPR regulation that we must adhere to and passing sensitive information via the classrooms breaks these regulations. We are currently waiting for a new post box to be delivered so we can put it up in another part of the school to make it easier for parents when returning forms.   Please contact the Admin Office if you have any questions. 
  • BSA Crazy Hair Disco The BSA will be holding a Crazy Hair Disco after school on Friday 25th October.  FS & KS1 4pm to 5.30pm.  KS2  6pm to 7.30pm.  We are looking forward to seeing how crazy your hair is!
  • Year 6 Trip On Friday 22nd October, year 6 pupils will be going to The Lincolnsfield Centre.  For more information please see the class teachers.
  • Harvest Assembly Tuesday 22nd October we will be having a harvest assembly, DENS Food Bank will be in school to talk to children and take any donations.
  • Wear it Pink on Friday 19/10/19 We will mark Breast Cancer Awareness Day on Friday. Children can wear their school uniform and a pink top or their school uniform and a pink accessory. We are supporting this very important cause and also to pay our respects to Dawn Payne who served on the BSA for 5 years and was a key supporter of the school. Please let your children know and wear something PINK on Friday to show your support. There is the option for a donation to this worthwhile cause should wish to do so.

  • Friday 15th November 2019 Dear Children, Parents / Carers, It has been another productive week at Broadfield Academy. The highlight of the week was our Remembrance Ceremony on Monday. We all took time to remember those who willingly sacrificed their lives for us all. Children engaged in a assembly, to help them understand the importance of the day. We all took part in a two minute silence at our Reading Garden and children were so respectful.   • Thursday 24th October Dear Children, Parents / Carers, I cannot believe how quickly this half-term has gone! It has been a fantastic start to the new year and I am so proud of all our children and staff, who have worked so hard to improve standards at our wonderful school. Systems and processes are now embedded and teaching and learning is our focus! We are making great strides and our children are the centre of our focus.   • Friday 27th September 2019 Dear Children / Parents / Carers It has been a really wonderful weeks. This week, KS2 had their Safer Internet Assembly led by Google. It was an interactive learning opportunity and they really delved into the different aspects of being safe online. This is such an important life-skill and staff learned a lot too! Today, we supported Macmillan Cancer and took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. All I can say is WOW!.   • Friday 13th September 2019 Dear Children / Parents / Carers We have had a great first week back! We have settled into routine very quickly. School has been calm and I have enjoyed hearing stories about summer adventures from children. Roald Dahl Day today was lots of fun. It was so lovely to see so many children dressed as their favourite book character. Raising the profile of Reading is so important and such a vital life skill.   • End of the year… I cannot quite believe how quickly the year has flown by. We have achieved so much and progressed so far on our improvement journey. Once again, thank you for your support. We are in a strong position to drive teaching and learning next year as our foundations are strong. I hope you have enjoyed meeting your child’s new teacher.   • 07.06.19 Dear Children, Parents / Carers What a great first week back! The weather has been really up and down but we have been just right! Children have settled in quickly and school routines have kicked in. Our lovely Year 6 children visited Pizza Express and made their own pizzas. Taking learning out of class really helps to inspire children. They all enjoyed themselves and came back to school rather hungry.   • This Week: 17.05.19 Dear Children, Parents / Carers  It has been a fantastic week! Our Year 6 pupils showed real determination during their SATs exams and made us all very proud.  The highlight of the week was our Fun Run. We have been hosting this event for the past nine years and it is part and parcel of Broadfield’s tradition. Children had so much fun running the circuit.   • 03/05/19 Dear Children, Parents / Carers It has been a fantastic week and we all settled nicely back into school life. This week, our wonderful Year 6 pupils sat their Mock SATs. Children at Broadfield were really supportive and encouraging to Year 6 pupils and were saying such positive things to them. It is such a pleasure to see our values embedded in our pupils and their day-to-day dialogue. Staff have worked so hard to ensue our pupil wellbeing was maintained.   • Happy Easter Dear Children, Parents / Carers Happy Easter! It has been a wonderful half-term. We have been busy Broadfield Bees once again. Today’s Principal’s Brilliance Assembly was fantastic. Lots of children being awarded for demonstrating our school values. The vibe was up-beat and positive and we enjoyed celebrating their success.
